Grand Okoko Island

Largest Island in the Safe Ring, Grand Okoko is home to a large population residing within the lamplit caverns beneath its dormant volcano. Like its inhabitants, the island is naturally hostile to outsiders. A labyrinth of coral reefs lace its shoreline, sinking any vessels whose captains are without a cartographic knowledge of the seafloor terrain. Despite its residents xenophobic leanings, Grand Okoko is one of the largest trading hubs in the entire ocean due to the abundance of natural resources. However, foreign merchants spending one too many nights in one of the seaside inns may find themselves waking up the next morning in a holding cell. Rumor has it that those that don't leave willingly are taken by nightfall and thrown from the cliffsides, down atop the sharpest section of barrier reef.
